kids´dream table-cloth
This would be the dream-comes-through for my little two years old Alena. She´s drawing everything, everywhere, including her body (well, I guess I do not need to mention our walls) at the moment, today she came to me, very proud, to show her belly covered with different colours, her hands (both sides), and some lines at her face too.
And I kept thinking when I first saw this (via swissmiss), that is an amazing idea for keeping an history of all the dinners we cook for our beloved friends too! they can all meet at the white sheet, living messages from the night of the dinner, or drawings (for the artistic ones :), what a great idea! you can find it here.
Children films
I love Cinema. And so do my children too. Here at home we have some very nice films and I would like to speak about them as a tip for parents and kids. So I will start with the favorite movies and cartoons of my girls, and those are also my favorites too.
From the Japanese cartoons, the favorites of N., my oldest girl (so I would say for 6 years old children on, but she liked also from 5 years on already), are 2 from Hayao Miyazaki that are realy wonderful, a “peace of art”, as my friend D. said when I first heard about these films: “Kiki’s Delivery Service” (“Kikis kleiner Lieferservice” in German), a cartoon about a little young witch, and “Howl’s Moving Castle” (“Das Wandelnde Schloss” in German), that´s a love story between a magician and a young crafter (she makes hats) turned into an old woman by a witch, and his fight to free his world from the war – this one is for older children, as there are some war scenes and is pretty hard to explain to a small child what war is. We bought this cartoon without knowing that, and my girl was very chocked. But excluding those scenes (that are not many), is a wonderful movie, full of delightful and beautiful drawings, fantastic scenes. Both films are so well done, the music is very nice, and the drawings… masterpiece! Always when they are watching these fims I seat together, maybe just a little, and let my imagination fly away with Miyazaki. Beauty.
In “Kiki’s Delivery Service” we are invited to fly over a city by the sea together with this young sweet witch, and the drawings and scenary are like paintings, I have no words, you have to see it:
And some images of the “Howl’s Moving Castle”, they are only about the caracters, next time we watch it I will do some more, there are amazing scenes on it:
Then, another film N. loves so much is a “shadow” animation film (I do not know how to say this in English, you see only the silhouette from the caracters and landscapes) made by the French director Michel Ocelot, called “Princes and Princesses“, also an art peace:
Also a French animation, this one from Jacques-Rémy Girerd, the film called “La Prophetie des Grenouilles”, (Das Geheimnis der Frösche” in German) is also a great cartoon:
And a film she just looove it and always ask to see is the Italian “Signor Rossi” (“Herr Rossi” in German), directed by Bruno Bozzetto (we have a German 3 DVDs edition that is great!):
the Disc 1 is “Herr Rossi sucht das Glück”
Disc 2 “Herr Rossi träumt”
and Disc 3 “Die Ferien des Herrn Rossi”
It´s full of nonsense scenes and situations (they travel also in time and space), and Herr Rossi is a very likeable caracter. He´s “looking for the happiness”.
I will continue, the list is long! 🙂
